Refrigeration systems in retail channels
The changes in food retailing (digitalisation of the POS, omnichannel, competition from online pure players) as well as the changed customer needs regarding food shopping (both stationary and online) lead to changed demands on the cold chain and thus also on refrigeration units, cold storage rooms and means of transport along the supply chain of food retailing (warehouse, picking for the stores, picking for the online channel, store).
The aim of the project is to analyse which requirements the different processes along the supply chain (e.g. storage, order picking, consolidation) have on the cold chain and thus on refrigerated furniture, rooms and means of transport against the background of different store (supermarket, container stores) or fulfilment concepts (manual order picking, partially automated order picking, dark store).
